James Bowen went to my elementary school (Crescent Park) and I always had a soft place in my heart for him. I remember his big house and his mom (being a bit afraid of her). I remember a very important interaction for me. I was doing some lettering for some elementary school project and he told me that he thought I was really artistic and gave me some other comment about my penmanship. I was really struck by his compliment... I remember starting to think that perhaps I could be an artist someday. I never forgot his generosity and sweetness. -- Debbie Lee
Does anyone remember the play of "The Addams Family" that we did at James' house when Miss Cook came to see it? Also, he had some great tunnels built in his backyard in the dirt...big enough for us 6th graders to climb through...He was such a sweetie.
James was a great guy. I remember riding around in his car after Madrigals practice. James had a great sense of humor! He also had a very nice voice. RIP.
James was a great friend, friendly to all. I remember fondly his driving around in a blue Mercury Cougar and offerig rides to all! He had a manic urge to change the radio station when the the song then playing did not please him! I attended the play at the LDS church on Guinda when we were both in high school, with James playing no less than the wizard in The Wizard of Oz. A great afternoon. We had many wnderful chats at Crescent Park, Jordan, and Paly.
